• Eligibility criteria

1. (i) Educational qualifications: To be eligible for admission to first year ofDiploma Course in Handlooms & Textile Technology, the candidate should havepassed 10th standard or equivalent examination with English as a subject of study.

NOTE: Some Board has already introduced the system of grading in 10•h Examination. As such
candidate must endorse the proof of details of marks with their application form to enable the
sdecti;;n committee t!.l p:repa:re merit list which is prepared on the basis of marks secured in l01

• examination only.

1. Age limit: The age limit for admission to first year of Diploma Course inHandlooms & Textile Technology for all the categories except SC/ST should bebetween 15-23 years and for SC/ST candidates it should be between 15-25 year ason 01-July of the admission year.

• Reservation

1. (i) The respective State Governments will follow their reservation policies forSC/ST/OBC etc.
2. (ii) In addition to above, minimum 20% of the total seats allotted to the states arereserved for candidates belonging to Weavers Community. Shortfall if any willbe met out from the candidates other than weaver's community.

•  Numbers of seats 

1. (i) Govt. oflndia has allotted"seats for your state.

• Form of applicRtion

1. The respective state governments will invite applications for admission to firstyear of Diploma in Handloom & Textile Technology either through press orother Medias of wider publicity in the prescribed application form (copyenclosed.) latest by 10th May 2015.
2. A copy of the advertisement shall be sent to this office immediately after itspublication.
3. The filled-in applications should be received by your office latest by10th June 2015.

• Preparation of merit list

1. (i) Merit List of all the eligible candidates will be prepared by the SelectionCommittee comprising Director of Handlooms Textiles/Director of Industries &Director, IIHT, Jodhpur or his representative subject to satisfy the qualifyingstandard and other eligibility conditions and depending upon the Statereservation policy. A common merit list of all eligible candidates irrespectiveof categories will be prepared & shall be submitted to reach this officelatest by 15th June, for issue of offer of counseling to the eligible candidates.
2. Aggregate of marks obtained in class 10th or equivalent qualifyingexamination shall be basis for the purpose of determining the merit.
3.  State Government should decide and mention the actuai no. of seats to bereserved for various categories as per their prevailing reservation policyand for weavers community out of total seats allotted to the state.
4.  In the event of two candidates securing identical marks in aggregate then thecandidate who had secured more marks in the Science subject will stand highin the merit.
